ANTHROPOLOGY

I. THE ORIGIN OF MAN

We reject all unbiblical views of the origin of man (evolution, Theistic evolution). We teach that God created man in His image (Gen.1:26 & 27) on day six and within six days He created all that exist (Gen. 1:27, 2:7). We reject the Gap theory that suggest an indefinite period of time between Gen. 1:1& 2. We believe in the Creationist view point of interpreting Scripture and geological evidences.

II. THE MATERIAL AND IMMATERIAL PARTS OF MAN (BODY - SOUL AND SPIRIT)

We teach that the Scripture reveals that man is made up of 3 basic parts, the body, soul, and spirit. God created man with a physical body (Gen. 2:7), the material. We teach that every man born will one day have his physical body raised from the dead (Jn.5:28-29). God has also made men with immaterial parts, soul and spirit (Jms 2:26; Ex. 21:23; Heb. 12:9). We take the Trichotomist view of man. Concerning the soul We teach that God may create this part of man at conception (considering the contrast at death Gen. 35:18). We teach that the soul is involved with the emotions of man (Jer. 31:25).

III. THE FALL OF MAN

We teach that Adam and Eve were given one prohibition in the Garden and they were disobedient when they ate of the forbidden fruit. Eve was deceived by Satan as to the trustworthiness of God's word and as a result she believed the lie and then Adam willingly ate and sin for the first time entered into God's creation. God Cursed the serpent (Gen. 3:14), and Satan (v. 15). God also cursed Eve and all women (Gen. 3:16). He also cursed ground in regards to Adam and men (Gen. 3:17-20). And finally, sin caused death spiritually and physically (Gen. 2:17), so they began to die and they were separated from their close fellowship with God (Gen. 3:23-24).
