Why Must We Be "Born Again"?

Born Again    There is only one obstacle preventing God from establishing a relationship with us–sin. It is something we all have in common–because we were all born with it. Because of the disobedience of Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, we are all born separated from God. In the Bible, Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Those who have not been "born again" cannot understand the ways of God. They are, in essence, enemies of the Lord.

The only way to change this condition is for a person to receive a new life by establishing a relationship with God. This is the only method to make you acceptable in the eyes of a holy God because all other attempts to please God are merely human.

Perhaps you are thinking, "That is very narrow-minded." And you are right–God is single-minded about the way to heaven. That's because there is only one way. He is all-knowing, and He provided this one way to heaven because He loves us and has a very specific plan for our lives.

The Bible states in John 3 that to have a relationship with God you must be "born again." This process of being born again occurs when God forgives men and women of their sins and allows them to establish a new life with Him.
